A few hours after the victory in the Women's Relay, the Russians dominated the men's test, preceding France 2a and Austria 3a on the finish line.

In the initial fraction Germany was immediately on the run thanks to an uncontainable Erik Lesser (0 + 1), who decided to force the step on skis since the second round, putting in crisis several opponents. The German, out of the polygon with a margin of 7 "on the pursuers, just before the change was joined by a trio composed of Antonin Guigonnat (France), Ondrej Moravec (Czech Republic) and Maxim Tsvetkov (Russia). These four went with 15 "on the Norwegian Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen, while Italy with Thomas Bormolini (0 + 3) passed 7th with a minute delay.
How much good done by Lesser was then thwarted by Simon Schempp, in difficulty both in the series on the ground that in the standing. In the front group to make the difference was the Russian Evgeniy Garanichev that with the "zero" at the polygon made the void, trimming over 30 "to the Norwegian Lars Helge Birkeland and almost 40" to the French Simon Desthieux, forced to take the penalty ring at the end of the standing session. Lukas Hofer, despite the four refills used has reassembled a position, giving the baton to Montello in 6th place at 1'10 "from the head, but a handful of seconds from the 4th place. Germany instead slipped to 11th place more than two minutes from Russia.
In the third fraction the mvp was undoubtedly Dmitry Malyshko, who with only two recharges used between first and second series, has increased the lead to 1'11 ". France was brought to second place. Quentin Fillon Maillet, after a bad polygon on the ground, he redeemed himself on his feet and climbed over the Norwegian Erlend Bjøntegaard. Good test for Giuseppe Montello, competitive in the fund and good at limiting errors at the shooting range, where he missed three targets. The blue has maintained the sixth place, passing with just over two minutes from Russia but less than 30 "from the podium.
Alexander Loginov, deployed in the last fraction, with a good pace on the skis managed to keep at a safe distance Martin Fourcade and, despite four missed targets, has firmly maintained the first position. Behind him the transalpine has played a good test, finding the "zero" shooting and closing a minute from Russia. Third place instead for Austria, in the race with Tobias Eberhard, Simon Eder, Dominik Landertinger and Julian Eberhard. The latter picked up the baton in 4th place but with a solid fraction managed to overtake the Norwegian Henrik L'Abee-Lund, 7th at the end.
The surprising Czech Republic ended at the foot of the podium. In the final Tomas Krupcik managed to put behind the Swedish Sebastian Samuelsson 5th and Dominik Windisch 6th. The blue, with a good first part of the fraction tried to get closer to the podium but then had to use three refills in the standing series.
