Biathlon: Russia blows the bench in the Oberhof Women's Relay

The quartet composed by Evgeniya Pavlova, Margarita Vasileva, Larisa Kuklina and Ekaterina Yurlova-Percht has imposed itself on the landlords of Germany.

The Russians, with a good test at the polygon, where they limited the errors, without ever taking the penalty ring, remained in the top positions throughout the race. In the final fraction Yurlova-Percht has engaged a duel close with Denise Herrmann for the victory. The German, after a good series on the ground, has committed too many errors standing, having to take the 'penalty ring. The Russian, has used only two refills and has flocked to success. On the last lap Herrmann defended himself from the Czech Eva Puskarcikova's comeback and brought Germany into second place (Karolin Horchler - Franziska Hildebrand - Franziska Preuss - Denise Herrmann). The Teutons partially redeemed an extremely negative weekend at the individual level and fought for victory until the last blow. Third place instead for the surprising Czech Republic (Lucie Charvatova - Veronika Vitkova - Marketa Davidova - Eva Puskarcikova) that taking advantage of the empty passages of several top nations, has seized the opportunity. Among the disappointments of the day there is certainly France, the favorite of the eve and 5th on the finish line, behind even Norway. Race not positive even for the Swedes who after the second place of Hochfilzen have closed in 7th place behind Slovakia. Even worse, however, did Italy, the 15th and last arrived among the nations that finished the race. Lisa Vittozzi dominated her own fraction, closing with a 20 "margin over the competition, the Italians were shipwrecked in the standings after Nicole Gontier's standing polygon, which had to complete five laps of penalties in the second part of the race. Runggaldier and Federica Sanfilippo tried to contain the damage and avoided the dubbing, while Dorothea Wierer remained at rest.
