Biathlon: Norway without rivals in the Canmore Men's Relay

In climatic conditions to the limit of the regularity, the Scandinavian quartet has imposed itself with wide margin on France and Russia.

In the first half Evgeniy Garanichev immediately imposed a sustained rhythm, putting in difficulty many opponents. The polygon, made selective by the strong wind, then made further selection. The only one able to hold the Russian's tails was Lars Helge Birkeland, who, after using a standing refill, took the lead in the race. In the final round the Norwegian was however resumed and overtaken by a wild Antonin Guigonnat. The first change was therefore passed to the lead France with 3 "advantage over Norway and 25" over Ukraine. Fraction to forget instead for Thomas Bormolini, who finished 16th after having completed two laps of penalties at the end of the first series. France and Norway, in the race with Emilien Jacquelin and Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen, competed in parallel to the standing polygon of the second fraction. In the final round, however, the Scandinavian has increased the pace, leaving the rival on the spot, which at the exchange rate has even paid 20 ". Behind these two battleships, which will probably play the gold medal also at the World Cup, Russia has passed. Latypov was good at handling the situation at the polygon but lost a lot of ground on skis, passing at 1'16 "from the tread. Italy thanks to Dominik Windisch (1 + 2) has risen in 8th position to 14 "from the fourth square. Christiansen handed the baton to Erlend Bjøntegaard, who struggled at the shooting range, where he made three mistakes, but kept a good pace on the skis. The Norwegian had to contain the comeback of Simon Fourcade, more precise than him to the shot. At the end the fraction was slightly favorable to France, which reduced the gap to 8 ". Loginov's delay, however, remained unchanged in third place ahead of Austria and Germany. Thierry Chenal, who slipped to 11th place, could not keep up with these two nations. In the last fraction Norway has deployed Johannes Thingnes Bø that, as happened in yesterday's Short Individual, did a separate race. The Norwegian has progressively increased the advantage thanks to an excellent pace on skis and then closed every speech for the victory at the shooting range, where it was once again perfect. Released from the last series with 1'35 "margin on Quentin Fillon Maillet, in the final round began the cool down, ending with 1''10" on France and 1''48 "on Russia.
