The blue quartet for the Kontiolahti women's relay: there is Lardschneider, out Gontier

Tomorrow at 15:15 the start of the first women's relay of the season with Norway and Sweden as favorites over France and Germany. At 1:20 pm, the men will take to the track, engaged in the pursuit. Sunday reverse program: Men's relay at 12:45 pm and women's pursuit at 3.15 pm.

The blue technical staff has decided to line up at the start of the first relay of the season a quartet with consolidated roles in recent seasons and the new Irene Lardschneider, who won the ballot with Nicole Gontier in Thursday's Sprint. Lisa Vittozzi will therefore be committed to the launch, a role in which over the years she has assumed more and more confidence to become a real specialist. Then there will be Lardschneider, the first relay in the World Cup. Third stage assigned to Dorothea Wierer, while at the end we will see Federica Sanfilippo. In light of the results obtained in the two Sprints that opened the 2020/21 World Cup, Italy is a candidate for an outsider role and at present the most realistic goal is to enter the top 7. Norway and Sweden start as favorite for victory a step above France. But the fight for the podium will be very uncertain. Here is the complete Start List!
