Kaisa Mkrinen wins the Women's World Cup in a tense final race

The mass start of Holmenkollen, the final act of the Women's World Cup, has proved to be very tense race in the race for the Crystal Ball, which went from a contender virtually all'' other during the competition. At the end of the duel was won by Kaisa Mäkäräinen.

He had not, however, well placed for the Finnish delayed by 5 points in the overall standings against Tora Berger. Indeed, after the first few bars seemed destined for the Norwegian Cup. For the first thirty-one of the polygon Ristijärvi, which necessarily had to close in front of the Scandinavian, was wrong twice and is found in the extreme rear of the standings while the thirty-three of Meraker floated in mid-pack. Both have since rebounded, with Berger always in a position of strength. The situation, however, is suddenly turned upside down in the third shooting session where Tora has missed three targets against one of Kaisa, trovatasi then in front of the opponent, but with the need to include as many athletes as possible between themselves and the ' 'half. Both have made a mistake'' s last polygon and the Finnish ended the game in his favor on the final lap catching up to seventh place, while the norge has not gone beyond the fourteenth position when at that point would have to ninth place themselves in order to defend the lead in the overall standings. So Mäkäräinen closes with 860 points against 856 Berger and 793 of Domracheva, fourth today. This is the second Crystal Ball's career after that the Finnish conquered in 2010 -'' 11. Kaisa thus becomes the fourth athlete to repeat a World Cup. In the past there were only successful Russian Anfisa Reztsova (1992, 1993), the Swedish Magdalena Forsberg (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002) and Germany's Magdalena Neuner (2008, 2010, 2012). The curious fact is while being entered into a restrittissima elite, the suomi won "only" 9 races and is barely in the top twenty positions of the most successful all-times. The podiums are 39, but not worth more than a thirteenth place overall. Yet, despite the numbers on the partial successes are not striking as those of many others, the thirty-one of Ristijärvi has the undoubted merit of having demonstrated the most concrete in two different winters. Objectively Mäkäräinen Berger has earned more than the bill because of the victories and podiums that of say 4-1 and 9-8 respectively to Kaisa. The only person to have won as much as the Finn was Domracheva, which closed with a smaller number of podium finishes (8) and is mainly caught in too many compensatory measures. At least the Belarusian won the Cup of specialties mass start for the third time in his career, bringing to four the total of its small crystal balls. In the race today, the fight for the top positions is inevitably overshadowed. The victory went to Anastasiya Kuzmina, the second success within twenty-four hours, which has established itself thanks to a last polygon clean and incisive final round against the Slovenian Teja Gregorin, second, and France's Marie Dorin Habert, able to get on the podium pregnant. The only blue in the race, Dorothea Wierer, he placed twenty-eighth. Holmenkollen - MASS START women1. Anastasiya Kuzmina [SVK] (1 +2 +1 +0) 39'' 44 "82. Gregorin Teja [SLO] (0 +0 +1 +1) to 3" 83.
