In windy conditions the gold medal went to the Belarussian quartet which imposed itself on the margins of Sweden and France.

The race was strongly influenced by the wind which made the polygon almost unusable with very strong gusts. The reversals in front were countless, nations that seemed to have been cut off from any medal discourse suddenly found themselves at the top and vice versa. In the end the gold medal went to the Belarusians, competitive in the first three fractions with Skardino, Kryuko and Alimbekava and with Domracheva in closing. At the entrance of the last shooting session the victory seemed to be on the ice but three errors forced her to use the refills well, which happened on time. Behind all the pursuers were equally inaccurate and for Darya came the fourth Olympic gold medal, better than she did only her husband Ole Einar Bjørndalen, present in Pyeongchang nell''inedita as skiman, and Martin Fourcade.
Silver medal for Sweden, literally dragged to the podium by an indomitable Hanna Oeberg. The twenty-two of Kiruna picked up the baton from Magnusson in 8th position with a minute of separation from the head and with two perfect polygons she climbed up to the 2nd place, finishing 10 "from the winner.This is the second medal in these Olympic Games, after the gold conquered in the 15 km.
In the final lap Oeberg had the best of Anais Bescond, out of the last series with a 4 "lead but then unable to keep the Scandinavian rhythm on tight skis, so bronze to France that was competitive with all its components, the first three factionalists were always held in top positions: Chevalier, Dorin and Braisaz.
Fourth place without regrets for Norway after a race between highs and lows. Among the Norge have well figured Solemdal at the launch and Olsbu in the closing, while they have struggled a lot at the polygon both Eckhoff and Tandrevold. The Scandinavians preceded Slovakia on the finishing line, surprisingly 5th, Switzerland 6th and Poland 7th.
Big disappointment instead in Germany, the Germans have been delayed since the second fraction with Herrmann and have not gone beyond the 8th place.
Ninth place for Italy, fighting for a medal up to the polygon standing of the decisive fraction, where, however, Federica Sanfilippo was too imprecise, thus having to move towards the 'penalty ring. At the launch Vittozzi was a certainty and, as happened in the Mixed Staffetta, he ended up his own test. Dorothea Wierer instead, shipwrecked after the polygon on the ground, resurfaced dramatically in the session standing thanks to a crazy series. In the third fraction Gontier has kept Italy in proportion, as did Sanfilippo up to the final polygon, where, however, has not caught the winning ticket, that of today has indeed been a real lottery.
Tomorrow at 12:15 the men's relay will start, Italy will line up Hofer, Windisch, Bormolini and Montello.
