At 14:40 the start of the Single Mixed of Oberhof which will close the first of the two stages of the World Cup in Thuringia. An important test in view of the Pokljuka world championship which sees a stellar parterre in the starting list.

Italy will be at the start with the starting couple Wierer-Hofer who, barring surprises, will also be deployed in the world championship, when Single Mixed and Mixed Relay will be played on two different days. The Azzurri, returning from a good performance in a similar format in the Christmas festival in Ruhpolding, will try to conquer the podium and improve the starting bib (currently 12). Last year Italy turned up at the World Championships in Antholz with a high bib and was "penalized" in the first round of the Single Mixed.

However, the competition for a place on the podium will be very fierce and of the highest level. In fact, many top nations deploy their own key elements. France will have Julia Simon and Emilien Jacquelin, Norway will be world champion with Tiril Eckhoff and Johannes Boe, while Sweden has chosen Sebastian Samuelsson and Hanna Oeberg. Attention also to Germany with the couple Hettich-Lesser and to the Russians Pavlova-Eliseev, fresh winners of the Ruhpolding kermesse. However, Austria does not field the owners: in fact, there will be Zdouc and Komatz who take the place of two specialists of the format such as Hauser and Eder.
