The race was very tight, with the first four of the general classification, which was also joined by Bescond, who fought for the victory. In the end the success went to Kaisa Mäkäräinen (0 + 1 + 1 + 0), arrived at the decisive polygon with almost 25 "to be recovered to the head trio, composed by Bescond, Dahlmeier and Domracheva, but then phenomenal in accurately covering all and five targets, unlike rivals who have all committed at least one mistake.
In the final round Mäkäräinen and Bescond (0 + 0 + 0 + 1) the victory was played, on the climb the French took a few meters of distance but then returned downhill. In the sprint, however, the Finnish did not leave the opponent, who had to settle for the place of honor. Laura Dahlmeier (0 + 0 + 0 + 1) was also on the podium, out of the last series with a 2 "delay from the leading pair, but then in difficulty in the final round.
Darya Domracheva (1 + 0 + 0 + 2), twice inaccurate in the last series, slipped to 4th place, ahead of German Karolin Horchler (0 + 0 + 0 + 1), coming back with a single passive error from the 11th position. Instead he closed 6th, after missing four targets, Anastasiya Kuzmina (0 + 1 + 2 + 1) who secured the specialty cup but lost ground in the overall standings against Mäkäräinen. The Finn is now in command with 5 points of margin on the rival and everything will be decided in tomorrow's Mass Start, which promises to be crackling.
The best of the blue was Lisa Vittozzi (1 + 2 + 0 + 0), 8th with three errors, all committed in the first half of the race. Difficult day at the polygon also for Dorothea Wierer (1 + 1 + 0 + 2), 16th on the finish line with four missed targets.
Tomorrow the Mass Start will close the 2017-18 World Cup, at 14:00 will start the men's test, at 16:00 the female one.
