Everything is ready in Pila for a very special edition of the historic youth event: first day with the Boys slalom and the giant for the students.

A dusting of fresh snow and temperatures well below freezing. Winter conditions in Pila, where the Memorial Fosson will take place from Friday to Sunday, the last appointment of the season for the Boys and Students categories. The eleventh edition of the youth event will kick off tomorrow with the boys who will compete in two slalom heats that will be valid as two separate tests, while the students will compete in the giant. The best 30 athletes, at the end of the first heat, will also compete in the second heat; for the calculation of the Ski Club Challenge, only the results of the first will be considered. Saturday programs reversed: the students will be engaged in the two slalom races, while the boys will participate in the giant that for this category will take place in a single round. On Sunday the grand finale with a new giant for the students (one heat) and a traditional slalom (two runs, valid as one race) for the boys. All the races will take place on the Leissé slopes and will start between 8.30 and 9, staggered times that will allow the organization to better control the turnout to the lifts, especially the first ascent. Also this year the winners of the Team Challenge will return home in a van, on loan for free use until the beginning of next season. This year the competitions are placed at the end of the season and not at the opening and this, in my opinion, makes them rise at the same time as a good omen for the end of a unique and exceptional period for its drama and for the expected return. to normal. I also want to congratulate the organizers of Memorial Fosson for having provided truly exceptional health precautions: the protocol that will be applied identifies, in fact, a series of prevention and hygiene measures to be adopted before and during the event by all participants and people. who for various reasons will be present at the event. In addition to being an event with a high sporting value, it is also an important promotional vehicle for our territory; the hundreds of athletes and technicians who will tread our Valley in the next few days, I am sure they will be testimonials of our fantastic ski slopes and of the quality of our tourist offer ".
