The current situation: today a splendid sunny day, after working all night to clean up the "3 Franco Berthod" again following the 40 centimeters of fresh snow that fell yesterday. Then the wind rose at dawn, and that is the greatest danger in view of the race days: with the skiing on the track already canceled well in advance, the blues trained in other locations and then reached La Thuile directly this afternoon. Federica Brignone had previously trained in Courmayeur, then in slalom in Pila and with a little rest in her La Salle to recharge her batteries. Marta Bassino and Laura Pirovano, on the other hand, split between Artesina and Limone Piemonte. As for the precautions related to the Coronavirus alarm, it should be remembered that entry to the public is only possible with a name ticket, thus attending the race from the stands or in the VIP Lounge. Furthermore, as far as the professionals (journalists, cameramen and photographers) are concerned, a protocol has been defined which provides for a minimum distance of one and a half meters during interviews with athletes in the mixed zone. To minimize interpersonal contacts, press conferences, the extraction of bibs in public and the award ceremonies, with the "unofficial" one that will take place only on the competition field, have been canceled. The show in La Thuile will be a little reduced, but from a sporting point of view, nothing should be missing.
