After St. Anton all in Crans-Montana: the third speed stage already confirmed by the FIS

Today the snow control in the town of the Canton of Valais, which will host two descents and a super-G from 22 to 24 January (recovery of one of the two canceled in Sankt Moritz). And the precedents of the blue are super, on Mont Lachaux.

After St. Anton it will be time for Crans-Montana, with three technical races in the middle between Flachau (slalom on January 12th) and Kranjska Gora (two giants on 16-17). The jet women will be back as protagonists in the Valais area, from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 January, although the first of the two tests will be staged on Wednesday 20 January. Today the snow control of the FIS inspectors gave a positive result: snow-making ok for a classic stage that however changes program compared to recent years, either for Covid needs, or for the cancellation of the Sankt Moritz weekend. There are therefore two planned descents on Mont Lachaux, Friday 22 and Saturday 23, always starting at 10.00, while on Sunday 24 one of the two super-gs canceled in the Engadine will be recovered (the other is still looking for space on the calendar), with competition time set at 11.30. And the third speed stage for this Women's World Cup, takes place in a place that is very dear to many of the Italians that we will see protagonists in less than two weeks in Switzerland: Federica Brignone has won 4 of her 15 races in the top circuit just in Crans-Montana, but all combined and consecutively from 2017 to 2020. This year, as is known, there will be no such race, but a technical descent like that of Mont Lachaux will still see the Aosta Valley play important places, if we already think only to what was done last year, when the World Cup was being played. Sofia Goggia won on Mont Lachaux, in the descent of 23 February 2019, Elena Curtoni got on the podium with the 2nd place in super-g in 2017 behind Ilka Stuhec, Marta Bassino instead placed 9th and 8th in the two runs of February 2020.
