The pink squadron confirmed for Crans-Montana: eight blue in the race on Mont Lachaux

From Friday to Sunday double downhill and super-g in the Canton of Valais: the calls are the same as for the fast races of St. Anton, with Goggia driving with the red bib. Having recovered Marsaglia, there will be no Gasslitter.

Eight blue on the track for three thrilling races in Crans-Montana, where two descents were already planned to which was added the recovery of one of the super-gs canceled in Sankt Moritz (the other will be staged in Val di Fassa at the end of February). From 22 to 24 January the Women's World Cup will return to Mont Lachaux and the squadron led by Gianluca Rulfi will feature the same athletes seen in the last appointment with speed, last 9-10 January in St. Anton: it will start already Wednesday with the first of the two tests, then Friday and Saturday double descent (always at 10.00) and Sunday closing with the third super-g of the season (at 12.00). Headlights clearly focused on Sofia Goggia (winner of the downhill in the Canton of Valais two years ago), leader of the downhill specialty with two wins and a second place in three races, but also on the amazing Marta Bassino now in third position in the overall cup standings: the Cuneo-based, as already announced, will skip the second descent without surprises to rest and concentrate in a super-g perspective, where she aims to collect other heavy points after her 2nd place in Austria. And then there will be Federica Brignone, who has very sweet memories on Mont Lachaux, having won the classic combined Crans-Montana in the last four years, canceled this year; the Aosta Valley also did well in the two descents last year, a springboard to the absolute crystal ball. Elena Curtoni (on the podium in the 2017 super-g), Nadia Delago, Francesca Marsaglia (who recovered from the bruises sustained after the crash in the super-g of St. Anton), Roberta Melesi and Laura will also be in the race next weekend. Pirovano, splendid fifth in the last descent. As is well known, there will be no Verena Gasslitter, who continues the therapies on her sore leg after the fall in the European Cup downhill held in Crans-Montana last Saturday, with the South Tyrolean aiming to return to Garmisch at the end of January.
