"Erta" perfect for the return of the World Cup: the giant from Kronplatz receives the OK from the FIS

Next January 26, the sixth seasonal specialty event on the wonderful South Tyrolean track that has already seen Bassino get on the podium twice and Brignone win, in that historic first of 2017.

The snow check indicated the expected “green light”, but there was clearly no doubt about the quality of the preparation of the queen slope of Kronplatz, the infamous “Erta”. Today the FIS ok arrived on time for the return of the South Tyrolean location in the women's World Cup calendar, with the sixth seasonal giant that will be staged on Tuesday 26 January, with the first heat scheduled at 10.30 and the second at 13.30. While on the one hand we rest before the races in Crans-Montana (with the downhill trials starting already on Wednesday) and on the other, some national teams train right in San Vigilio di Marebbe, taking a look at the previous three on stage from 2017 to 2019, there is really a lot of blue in what wants to become a great classic of the top circuit, also considering the difficulty and beauty of a track like the “Erta”. The first time remains unforgettable, given that on 24 January 2017 it was a double podium with Federica Brignone back to win and Marta Bassino third (second podium in CdM for the Cuneo-based), with Tessa Worley who finished between the two blue. One year later Viktoria Rebensburg signed, ahead of Mowinckel and Faith herself, finally on January 15 2019 the race dominated by Mikaela Shiffrin, who made a void in the first heat and ended with over a second margin over Worley and new Bassino (with fourth Vlhova).
