A week in Sweden, with many good training days in ideal conditions and now the snow that has arrived in Are.
We are on the eve of the triptych that will decide whether Federica Brignone will become the first Italian woman in the history of our skiing to win the World Cup; parallel slalom on Thursday (at 15.30 the double qualifying round, at 18.25 on the final phase), giant Friday and Saturday slalom.
Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova to be rejected, with the awareness that taking home 148 points in 3 games would already guarantee the arithmetic certainty of taking home the absolute crystal ball. Yesterday afternoon Fede had fun with her friend and colleague Anna Swenn-Larsson on skis ... cross country. This morning, however, still parallel slalom training under a heavy snowfall: the forecasts for tomorrow indicate snow in the afternoon, therefore during the race, even if in a discipline like the PSL there should be no big problems.
Despite the dramatic situation linked to the Coronavirus, within the team of Gianluca Rulfi you can breathe a calm climate, with Brignone and Bassino (attention also to the Piedmontese, who can play the parallel slalom cup and the 4th overall finish in the general) who managed to isolate themselves better.
In Sweden, compared to Norway itself where the alarm has risen to very high levels in the last few hours, everything is still going on in a "normal" way, with the three Are races regularly open to the public. Although in a matter of hours it could change everything again.
