Days of waiting in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, with the hope that the week in Bavaria will be useless, considering that bad weather endangers the super-gs scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
We are already thinking, even in the Azzurri team, about the approach to the World Championships in Cortina, but also with a look after the world championship; therefore, from Wednesday 3 until Saturday 6 February, the day on which we will then move to the "Queen of the Dolomites" 48 hours from the combined alpine that will open the world championships, the stars of the women's national team will have the opportunity to train and try the “La VolatA” slope of Passo San Pellegrino.
This is not an absolute novelty for the Italians, who already had excellent training sessions last winter in the Fassa area, but in this case it will be a very useful job thinking about the key triptych of the World Cup on the track that recovers the Chinese pre-Olympic races (and the canceled descent in Garmisch). From 26 to 28 February, in fact, the first post-World Cup races will be the Italian ones, with two descents and a super-g on the track that hosted the 2019 jr world championship event.
Passo San Pellegrino who left Tessa Worley today to head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, after excellent training days for the transalpine winner last Tuesday at Kronplatz and the French women's team led by Alberto Senigagliesi. Next week, in fact, it will be Italy's turn to train thanks to the enormous work done in recent weeks by the technicians of the plant company and the Fassa Ski Team, with the fundamental indications of the race directors Cesare Pastore and Rainer Senoner.
On the track there will obviously be Sofia Goggia, Federica Brignone and Marta Bassino, but also Elena Curtoni, Francesca Marsaglia, Nadia Delago, Verena Gasslitter, Roberta Melesi and Laura Pirovano; the blue ones will use, in addition to “La VolatA”, also the “Le Coste” slope, open since December for all ski club activities.
