The Ski World Cup Alpine Female remain in France for the final round before Christmas. In Courchevel fact will stage a giant slalom.

Courchevel is one of the most famous ski resorts in France. Belonging to the municipality of Saint-Bon-Tarentaise it is located in the department of Savoie and is part of the largest ski area in the world, to Les Trois Vallées.
However Courchevel entered in the calendar of the World Cup only in 2010. Since then they have played 5 matches in all, 3 and 2 Giant Slalom, always in the week before Christmas. The queen of this town is Marlies Schild, who won all three Slalom held on 21 December 2010 18 December 2011 and 17 December 2013.
But this year the girls will compete in giant slalom. The six podium finishes of the previous two editions were occupied by six different skiers: December 16, 2012 Tina Maze won ahead of Kathrin Zettel and Tessa Worley; December 20, 2015 instead success of Eva-Maria Brem of Lara Gut and Nina Løseth, tied for second.
The best result for Italy in Courchevel Gigante is the sixth place finish from Sofia Goggia twelve months ago, extremely encouraging outcome given the condition that Bergamo has shown so far this season. For the rest no other top ten in this specialty: Irene Curtoni it was seventh in the slalom in 2012 and Manuela Mölgg eighth in the one of 2010.
Giant Slalom in Courchevel will be held Tuesday, December 20. The first race will start at 10:30 am, the second at 13:30.
