For Ilka Stuhec, the one concluded early in recent weeks has been a season of two faces. Able to re-enter the circuit with great success, with the triumph in Val Gardena and, above all, the resounding downhill world bis, combining the gold won at Sankt Moritz 2017 with the World Championship 2019, just two weeks after the party on Swedish soil, yet another stop came for Slovenj Gradec's unlucky 28-year-old. In the Coppa descent at Crans Montana, won by Sofia Goggia, Ilka was injured in the posterior cruciate ligament of the left knee, an injury that could be managed differently than the one in the anterior cruciate who had forced her to skip the entire Olympic season . The winner of the 2016/17 downhill World Cup, in fact, did not operate and confides to being able to return already at good levels next season, as confirmed in front of thousands of fans who welcomed her to Maribor, on the occasion of a meeting to celebrate a still splendid vintage. Accepted by the mayor of the Slovenian town, Sasa Arsenovic, and by the president of the Slovenian Olympic Committee, Bogdan Gabrovec, Ilka admitted: "This is a quite turbulent period, the one just passed, but it's nice to find so many people who support me. I will make sure to return to the maximum even after this 'last injury'. Gabrovec did not hesitate to put a lot of pressure on its brightest star, which somehow inherited the leading role of the Slovenian national team from a certain Tina Maze ... "We believe and we know that the gold medal for Slovenia can you give us Ilka again. It is not a pressure, we really believe that in Beijing 2022 you can do it â€.
