As usual, it will be Lake Louise to host the first speed events of the World Cup Alpine Skiing Female. The program will open with two descents Free.

Lake Louise is a place located in Alberta's Banff National Park. After some sporadic edition dated 1989 and 1991 from the 1992-93 season has entered permanently in the calendar of the Women's World Cup becoming the scene of the first stage of seasonal Downhill and Super G, usually the first weekend of December.
Friday and Saturday will be played the first seasonal descents. In all, 43 tests of this discipline hosted by Lake Louise and valid for the World Cup, and there is one undisputed queen. This is Lindsey Vonn, who won the beauty of 14 descended played on these snows from December 3, 2004, date of its first-ever victory in the World Cup, to December 5, 2015, often with sidereal detachments such as to have them declared, some season ago, wanted to challenge the men.
Vonn also has three second places, always behind Höfl-Maria Riesch, which is the second most successful woman in the Lake Louise downhill at 5 hits, for a total of 17 podium finishes in this race. The German also the chases in this special ranking with 9 top-three, as many other great champions of the discipline that is Renate Götschl.
Several memorable races from the Italian in the Lake Louise downhill. Isolde Kostner has in fact set 4 times for 8 podiums, so much so that, numbers in hand, this is the track where the South Tyrolean took off as many satisfactions in the World Cup. The Canadian resort is also remembered for the first career win by Elena Fanchini, which prevailed December 2, 2005 in front of two star players such as Michaela Dorfmeister and Alexandra Meissnitzer. The oldest of the sisters Fanchini also boasts a third of December 6, 2013, while Nadia sister came third December 1, 2006 and the second on December 5, 2008. In all, therefore, the blue have 5 wins, 4 seconds and 3 third places in the Descent Free Lake Louise.
As always happens, weather permitting, there will be two descents which will be held in Lake Louise. The first will take place on Friday, December 2, starting at Italian 20:30 local 12:30, while the second, at the same times, will be held Saturday, December 3rd.
