If Henrik Kristoffersen, this afternoon after his second success in the Levi slalom, chose "Trenki" for the name of the reindeer donated to the winner, Mikaela Shiffrin went ... against the current.
The Colorado superstar announced on social media that his fourth reindeer, after Rudolph in 2013, Sven in 2016 and Mr. Gru in 2018, will be called ... Ingemar. Yes, just as a tribute to the one who has surpassed in terms of the number of slaloms won in the World Cup, with Mikaela rising to 41 and then to 1 more on Stenmark.
"I thought of this name after the race, when they told me about the record," explained Shiffrin. "First of all, however, I wanted to ask permission from the person concerned ... And it's true, now I have this record, but for me it was a normal race and I just think that Stenmark was better, I certainly don't see how to break or take a record.
So, I want to pay tribute to one of the greatest skiers of all time â€.
