After the unforgettable giant on Saturday, at home Italy will probably be a bit more tough in the second and final race of the Killington weekend, the slalom scheduled for Sunday on the "Superstar", again at 3.45 pm Italians for the 1st round and at 7pm for the second (both on live TV on Raisport and Eurosport).
The second seasonal test of specialty, after the dominion of Mikaela Shiffrin in Levi in front of Holdener and Truppe, clearly proposes the American champion as very favored for the success, that would be worth the hooking to quota 62 pearls in the World Cup against a certain Annemarie Moser-Proell (at -20 from Lindsey Vonn).
Mikaela has always won in Killington in the previous three in this specialty (but never succeeding in the giant) and will start with the bib number 3 in the 1st run drawn by the Swedish Per (2nd placed by the Swiss Zurbuchen). Petra Vlhova's gate will be the first to open, eager to redeem itself after today's giant placement, but above all Levi's knockout when he was in the lead halfway through the race.
With No. 2 here is Lysdahl, with 4 Liensberger, then Swenn Larsson, Holdener (6) as the third favorite after Shiffrin and Vlhova, and Katharina Truppe (for the first time on a CdM podium in Levi) to close the sub-group initial; given the difference in values between the very first and the "rest of the world", it is difficult to foresee large entries from behind, but certainly beware of the splendid Haver-Loeseth seen when returning to Levi (fifth) and above all to Michelle Gisin, in great shape and at the start with No. 15, immediately after the Norwegian.
Five the blue in the race: Irene Curtoni will have the bib number 11, Federica Brignone will make her seasonal debut in specialty with the 31 and will certainly be gassed from the square of honor in giant, then she waits for the reaction of Lara Della Mea, decidedly disappointing in the opening in Finland, the confirmation by Peterlini (bib 45) after the 5 points obtained in Levi and, with the n ° 58, the attempt to qualify by Roberta Midali.
