In St. Anton there will be the downhill and super-g return of Wendy Holdener, who had skipped the speed opening in Val d''Isère to work towards the technical races of Semmering and Zagreb, but there is another news that represents an absolute novelty.
Yes, because Estelle Alphand has announced that she wants to devote herself completely to speed (while competing at least in giant), she who also started this season with many difficulties taking home only a 23rd place in the second giant of Courchevel, finally coming out in the 1st Semmering slalom round.
No more tight posts, at least for this season, precisely in the discipline where the Swede (by passport, given that we are talking about Luc Alphand's daughter) had obtained in 2017 the only top 5 of her career in the World Cup in Lienz. The ankle injury, the following year in Killington, stopped the rise of Estelle, who explained her decision with a press release from the Swedish federation announcing her presence in super-g on Sunday at St. Anton (he only played one in CdM, 44th in Lenzerheide in 2016).
