The first women's slalom of the World Cup season really offers many themes, which we will begin to discover from 10.30 with the start of the 1st heat (on German layout, the 2nd will start at 13.30 instead) on the "Levi Black" one that maybe it will not be the most demanding track on the circuit, but it represents a classic for the pink circuit and always offers exciting challenges.
Today we expect the one between Katharina Liensberger, who defends the specialty cup won a few months ago and is the reigning world champion after having dominated in Cortina; the Austrian was the new reference in 2020/21, but it is certain that Mikaela Shiffrin wants to take back the throne and the fifth in Levi, after finishing behind Petra Vlhova in the "double" of 2020 in Finland. The Slovakian, in fact, won both slaloms a year ago and loves this slope: the holder of the general cup will be the first of the big three to come out of the gate, with the n ° 2 immediately after Kristin Lysdahl, while Shiffrin will have the 3 and Liensberger on 6.
Between the American and the Austrian we find Holdener (returning after a scaphoid fracture) and Duerr, after the world champion Michelle Gisin completes the first sub-group. Track conditions that look really good, with a tough, not exaggerated but a coat that should hold up very well.
