Since that November 30 that saw her conquer her first World Cup victory in Killington, dominating the giant in Vermont, in double second place on January 25-26 in Bansko, between downhill and super-g for her first podiums in speed . In less than two months Marta Bassino has definitively exploded in the firmament of blue skiing, taking six podiums in five different disciplines (downhill, super-g, giant, combined and parallel giant): not even 24 years old (she will accomplish them on February 27th) , like her none and the distance challenge with Federica Brignone, who has obtained seven top 3 (with three successes) continues also at the level of the general classification, where the Aosta Valley is second behind only Shiffrin and the native of Borgo San Dalmazzo fourth, now widely ahead of Wendy Holdener. The Piedmontese exulted only once, precisely in Killington, but it is the continuity of performance and her skiing so light and always profitable now in every specialty (even if Bansko is a particular track for speed, this must be said), which make think how Marta is certain the present, but also and above all the future of Italy. Two giant podiums (she was second in Lienz), the two from Bansko and the double third place between the combined Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and the parallel giant from Sestriere: exceptional results which, however, did not influence the (wise) choice of jump downhill and super-g at Rosa Khutor, to rest, train and return to Garmisch-Partenkirchen with the possibility of playing important cards especially in super-g. And then get to the giant of Maribor (15 February) to stay in the running for the giant cup which sees Brignone leading on Shiffrin and Bassino who, due to the placement of Sestriere (tenth), has lost some ground but he still has the chances to play his first crystal ball.
