Mikaela Shiffrin confirms the maxi program at least until Sankt Moritz: "Ready and rested for Killington"

The queen of the World Cup has prepared all the disciplines, before flying to Levi. The dream of playing it for all the crystal balls continues ...

Second place in Soelden (for 6 cents) in the opening giant of the World Cup, first place in the Levi slalom, with almost two seconds on the first pursuers. Mikaela Shiffrin's run-up to what would be her fourth absolute crystal ball began in the ideal manner, but as mentioned a few weeks ago, to be precise in the days leading up to the Rettenbach opening, the woman of the white circus records has in mind an idea that is no longer mad, but a precise goal. The 24 year-old Eagle wants to fight for all the cups at stake, and there are seven of them with the institution of the one dedicated to the parallel; in the past few hours, Mikaela confirmed on social media that she was able to train in all four mother disciplines, from the descent to the slalom, in the two weeks preceding the Levi slalom. Between Copper Mountain and Aspen, the American champion has found the right conditions to "do everything" and, after the return trip from Finland, to the States, now there is the weekend of "home" in Killington in the viewfinder, with the giant on Saturday on the Superstar (which has never won in the three previous editions, dominating instead the three slaloms played in Vermont from 2016 to 2018) that could allow her to sign another link in the record book, the one to the 62 successes of a legend which is Annemarie Moser-Proell, the second most successful skier in terms of races behind Lindsey Vonn who stopped at 82. But let's get back to the project that relates to this season 2019/2020 without major events: 41 races are scheduled in the World Cup calendar and, at least until the weekend of Sankt Moritz (14-15 December, with super-g and parallel slalom ) and the next giant in Courchevel (December 17), it is already certain that Shiffrin will take part in all the tests. After the two Killington techniques, the trio of fast races (two descents and a super-g) in Lake Louise, then just the return to Europe. Only at that point, depending on your condition, will you decide what to do for Val d''Isere, where on 21 and 22 December there will be a descent and the first combined of the season. "It is the first time since I embarked on the path of multidisciplinarity, that I have been able to train on four specialties in the same period - explained Shiffrin, thanking the Copper Mountain and Aspen resorts for the chance to work at the top - E It was fundamental before a crazy period in the Cup, as the calendar offers five different disciplines in four countries, from Levi to Sankt Moritz. It's not easy, you also need to rest in the right way to be able to give your best on the track, but I have the best team you can imagine and fantastic support. Having said that, I feel ready to restart from Killington: I can't wait to compete in front of the best fans in the world ”.
