Now it's official, Lara Gut-Behrami returns to Kranjska Gora: the Ticino-born player has not competed since 12 December

Having overcome the positivity at Covid, the Ticino champion will put back a bib after that fall in the super-g of Sankt Moritz. In the giant of tomorrow she will be in the first sub-group, with her Holdener and Gisin (always absent due to Covid instead Rast, Meillard and Danioth).

Almost a month out of the game, 27 days almost certainly costing the possibility of fighting for the absolute World Cup, already close to last season, given that the gap from the leader Mikaela Shiffrin is 532 points. Lara Gut-Behrami, however, finally sees the light again as her return for the weekend in Kranjska Gora is now official, with the champion from Comano at the start on Saturday in the giant on Podkoren, after the positivity to Covid announced on Friday December 17 took away the fast races of Val d''Isère, the two giants of Courchevel and that of Lienz. It will be important to understand at what level we will immediately find Lara, who played an exceptional race in Soelden in the only test between the wide doors she played this season, and has not been seen at the gate since the day of the crash in the super-g of Sankt Moritz (December 12), which at least on the physical level did not leave major consequences since then Gut-Behrami had already seen himself on the ball in the first downhill test in Val d''Isère (a few hours later the positivity emerged). The Swiss leader will be in the first starting sub-group (she is 7th in the WCSL just ahead of Federica Brignone, who will not be in Slovenia anyway), as will Michelle Gisin who will support her in the race together with Wendy Holdener, Simone Wild, Andrea Ellenberger, Vivianne Haerri and Vanessa Kasper. Absent, as already announced with the positivity before Zagreb, Camille Rast, Melanie Meillard and Aline Danioth. In the slalom on Sunday, therefore, there will be only five Red Cross athletes: with Gisin and Holdener here are Stoffel, Good and Macheret. As we have already said, Germany must give up Jessica Hilzinger and will only propose Emma Aicher and Paulina Schlosser as a giant, who will then also compete in the slalom together with Lena Duerr. The choices of the France house are also official, with the usual quintet between the wide doors led by a Tessa Worley galvanized by the triumph of Lienz; with the two world champion, line up Frasse Sombet, Direz, Escane and Miradoli. In slalom instead the trio formed by Noens, Escane and Lamure.
