The streak of six consecutive World Cup victories in "his" specialty has been interrupted in Zagreb, Mikaela Shiffrin has already got on with work, in view of the fifth slalom appointment of the season, scheduled for night on Tuesday 14 January in Flachau.
Here the American champion had the opportunity to test, just over a week from the now traditional classic in Salzburg (the track will then be "closed" and delivered to FIS), the "Hermann Maier Strecke" that will propose a new duel with Petra Vlhova and ... the rest of the world.
Shiffrin skied this evening, during the race time, on the slope of Flachau together with the colleagues of the Austrian national team, who obviously have priority; a race that Mikaela has already conquered three times, in the 2013, 2014 and 2018 editions, with three other podiums brought home but also the memory of a year ago (it was January 8, 2019), when for the last time before precisely the race last Saturday in Zagreb, was beaten in slalom. Just from that Petra Vlhova who, that evening, burned her for only 15 cents.
The double revenge is therefore within reach, and certainly the queen of the white circus wants to prepare her at best.
