Takes place in Val Disere latest Ladies' Downhill 2016

The three days of the Val d'Isere World Women's Cup will continue with a downhill which will be played on the Oreiller-Killy and that will be the last of 2016.

Val d'Isere, the town of about 1,600 inhabitants, is one of the historical sites of the World Alpine Ski Women's Cup. Located in Haute Savoie in fact hosted its first race, one Giant Slalom, in 1968. Since then 84 total trials of the World Cup as well as the World Cup of 2009, while medals of the Albertville Olympic Games, in contrast to their male colleagues, were assigned on the slopes of Meribel. Saturday is scheduled for a downhill, a discipline that has made its appearance in Val d'Isere in 1970, has remained constantly calendar until 1988 before an interruption, a sporadic return in 1996, in 1997 and 2006 and - for the final time - back in 2010 for a total of 30 descents usually fixed in the first half of December. The queen of this race is the usual Lindsey Vonn, winner of 4 Downhill World Cup more than that earned him the world title in 2009, for a total of 5. About the greatest interpreter of our local discipline, Isolde Kostner, who came third behind Katja Seizinger and Picabo Street 3 February 1996. Do not forget, however, the third behind Vonn and Gut which won the bronze medal at the World Cup Nadia Fanchini 2009. The Downhill in Val d'Isere will be held Saturday, December 17 starting set for 10:30.
