The last race of 2016, valid for the World Cup Alpine Skiing Female will be the Semmering Slalom.

Semmering is a town in the district of Neukirchen in Lower Austria. He entered in the calendar of the World Cup in 1995, since 1998, alternating with Lienz in hosting a Giant Slalom and one at Christmas. However we do not compete here since 2012, as in 2014 the lack of snow forced the organizers to give up; FIS moved the tests laid down in Küthai.
The special slalom will be the last female of the calendar year trial draws to a close. In all the 13 editions held so far between the narrow poles in Semmering, and there are three girls riding at 2 victories ranking concerning plurivincitrici: Pernilla Wiberg was imposed in the first of two races held in 1995 and in 1996, Janica Kostelic he triumphed in 2000 and 2002, while Marlies Schild ruled in 2004 and 2010.
The same three girls also lead the list of podium finishes at an altitude of 3: Wiberg also won a third place in 1998, Kostelic Schild second in 2004 and third in 2006. Veronika Velez Zuzulova is instead the only activities to boast a success in slalom in Semmering: the Slovak won the last edition held December 29, 2012 ahead of Kathrin Zettel and Tina Maze.
A first, a second and a third place. This is Italy's tight booty among piles of Semmering, 3 podiums, two of which have a particular specific weight. Having finished second the day before, in fact, Deborah Compagnoni won 29 December 1996: what was the only triumph in the slalom World Cup for the largest blue skier of all time. On 29 December 2002 instead of the third came Nicole Gius, the first of four podiums that will succeed in obtaining career in top-level competitions.
Slalom in Semmering Special will be staged Thursday, December 29; the race will be at night, with the first run at 15:00 and the second at 18:00.
