Vonn queen without a world medal in the Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The two days of Garmisch-Partenkirchen reserved for sprinters will end with a Super-G.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, municipality located in Bavaria, Germany, is one of the historical sites as far as the entire panorama of winter sports. As for alpine skiing, as well as several tests of the World Cup held since 1970, she has hosted the World Cup in 1978 and those of 2011, and gave birth to some of the greatest performers of the sport, from Rosi Mittermaier Maria Riesch to Höfl-Neureuther family. As for the other winter sports, Garmisch-Partenkirchen hosts the New Year's Day the second leg of the Four Hills Tour, one of the most important competitions of ski jumping. In its own way also biathlon is tied to this locality, as Magdalena Neuner, the largest ever, is its native land of Bavaria. Finally we can not forget how these snows, were held in 1936 Winter Olympic Games, the only organized from Germany. The women's weekend will end with a Super-G. There are 12 editions of this race held in the Bavarian land, 11 valid for the Crystal Ball and one for the World Cup of 2011. As often happens when it comes to fast races, the palm of plurivincitrice up to Lindsey Vonn, who won in career 3 times the Super G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. However, the US failed the most important event: on 8 February 2011 came only seventh in the race that gave the world championship gold at Elisabeth Görgl. No other girl was able to repeat in this race. Also with regard to the podium commands Vonn, 4 with the top three: the three successes adds the third place of twelve months ago. However the US is flanked by compatriot Julia Mancuso, who won the race in 2012, second and third in the two races of 2013 and world silver in 2011. Finally, to quote the only one podium - also the world champion bronze - obtained from Maria Riesch-Höfl in this race, extremely meager for a champion who in front of his fans has never managed to get what he could. If Höfl-Riesch does not laugh, Italy weeps. No blue has never again been able to get on the podium in the Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: the best finish was a fourth place by Nadia Fanchini 1 February 2009. Good feeling with this track for Elena Curtoni, the fifth 5 febrbaio 2012 and above sixth in the World Championship of the previous test. Have at least one top ten also Isolde Kostner, Federica Brignone, Johanna Schnarf and Daniela Merighetti. The SuperG Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be held Sunday, January 22 starting set for 12:00.
