On Wednesday (12.30-16.30 the two heats) the first of the two consecutive appointments in Croatia, where the snow conditions are precarious: Bucik will open the sixth slalom of the season as in Semmering, the Slovakian, winner of the last three editions, with a potential advantage of track in the 1st heat compared to the great rival, unbeaten in four CdM races. Five blue women registered, Peterlini the first at the gate with n° 33.

It's still slalom time for the Women's World Cup, which starts again from where 2022 ended, or between the narrow posts.
From Semmering to the two races in Zagreb, Wednesday and Thursday with the sixth and seventh specialty stages for the girls, engaged in a very complicated challenge like the one on the Sljeme hill: not so much for the slope, but for the snow conditions competing in the first appointment with the new year.
The temperatures in Croatia are very high and the "Crveni Spust" has been prepared working wonders, but in any case there will be about ten seconds less than the original track, starting from the first change of slope, then immediately with the wall most challenging of the track, apart from the final one of the last ten gates.
Tomorrow the start from 12.30 (Swiss layout), after four hours the decisive heat (both live TV on Eurosport 1 and Rai Sport), from 16.30 with an Austrian design and under the lights of the floodlights to celebrate the first queen of Zagreb, who in the last three editions it has always been Petra Vlhova.
The Slovak has not yet won in the 2022/23 season, but in this race-1 she could have an important advantage over the natural favorite, or Mikaela Shiffrin. In fact, the Slovak will start with bib number 2 and in such precarious conditions there could be a difference compared to the number 7 of the American. To inaugurate the 1st heat will be Ana Bucik, exactly like in Semmering, then after Vlhova here is a trio that points straight to victory like the one formed by Swenn Larsson, Holdener and Liensberger, with Duerr, back on the podium last Thursday in Austria, with 6 before Shiffrin, mistress in the World Cup and fresh from the victory of the last four races, from super-g to giant up to last week's slalom on the "Panorama" (and with a poker of seals in Zagreb).
Not too lucky a draw even for the second American striker, that Paula Moltzan beaten only by Shiffrin in Semmering and at the start on Wednesday with the No. 15, while the second sub-group will be opened by Gisin and Hector.
After the top 15, pay attention to Aronsson Elfman and above all, with number 17, to the landlady Zrinka Ljutic in the assault, who knows, of her first podium in CdM, then only after thirty will we see the five blue women in the race.
Martina Peterlini, on her second post-injury outing, will start with number 33, followed by Marta Rossetti, mocked with 31st place in Semmering, with number 38 before Lara Della Mea and Vera Tschurtschenthaler, respectively with bib numbers 42 and 43, and Anita Gulli with 50. We need to redeem the "zero", in terms of passes for the 2nd heat, of a few days ago in Lower Austria, even if the slope and track conditions certainly don't promise the best for Team Italia.
