In a slalom conditioned by the weather, the fight for the top positions now seems to exclude all of Theolier's men, but some discreet signs have arrived. Sala and Maurberger fighting for a world pass.

Five qualified athletes out of seven at the start, certainly all far from the top, but still capable of managing a very difficult heat well, with the sign now evident after a few passes.
The 2nd round of the Chamonix slalom, scheduled at 12.30, will see Vinatzer, Moelgg, Gross, Maurberger and also Tommaso Sala as protagonists, very good at hitting the 28th time with bib 39 (and still running for a bib in Cortina 2021) , just 9 cents from the trio that, in 24th position, sees Manni, Sabo and Simon paired. A little ahead of them, starting however with number 12, an Alex Vinatzer who will finish 18th in the first heat, 1 ”81 from Schwarz but with some better feeling than the five or so“ zeros ”accumulated in the slalom in January.
“At least today I qualify - the Val Gardena smiled at Ettore Giovannelli's Rai microphones - but in the second I will have to attack more. We have identified a technical problem that must be eliminated, I can and must do better. The track? There was a slight sign, I respected it by clearly losing a little, but I am convinced that in these conditions it can still change a lot ”.
Manfred Moelgg was anything but satisfied with his performance: “It could have been done better, I made a mistake at the top by cutting the mark and then at the end I struggled to adapt. For the second we need to recover, a few stories ".
