Checking the snow was a sort of formality, since there is no lack of snow this year, but in Val d''Isère they cross their fingers for the weekend of 11-12 December, hoping that this time the conditions are decent to open one of the great classics of the white circus, which will then continue the following week with downhill and super-g of the women's CdM on the “Oreiller-Killy”.
The FIS officially confirmed this morning the men's giant and slalom, scheduled on the very tough “Face de Bellevarde” on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 December, in both cases with heats set at 9.30 and 13.00.
The last few years have been really tough for the French organizers, who hosted the men's speed races last year, while the last slalom was held in 2019 with domination by Alexis Pinturault (and podium for Stefano Gross), and one of the We haven't even seen the most beautiful giants of the World Cup since 2018, when Marcel Hirscher won again ahead of Henrik Kristoffersen. Hopefully this time everything will go smoothly for a weekend dedicated to top-level technical disciplines.
