European Cup: Rogentin wins the last super-g in Saalbach and takes away the cup from Weber, 13th Molteni

After the cancellation of the descent, the first race of the finals of the continental circuit was staged today. Franzoni, out of 30, says goodbye to the podium in the general and is now thinking of Lenzerheide.

The final super-g of the European Cup speaks Swiss, but the party at the Saalbach-Hinterglemm finals is by Stefan Rogentin and not by Ralph Weber, who sensationally loses the specialty ranking (finishing 15th) by only 3 points in favor of his compatriot, who triumphs on the Zwoelferkogel in the first and only race staged in the Austrian town, after the cancellation of yesterday's descent. Rogentin beat the Austrian Hemetsberger by 30 cents and the French Roy Piccard by 31 (3rd in the super-g ranking behind the two Swiss and therefore he too with a fixed place in the next World Cup season), while Raphael Haaser is fourth as six days before in the CdM super-g, thus approaching only 31 points from the leader of the general classification of the continental circuit, the other standard-bearer of the Wunderteam, Maximilian Lahnsteiner. The best blue in the last speed race of the season is still Nicolò Molteni, good 13th one second clear of Rogentin, while Pietro Zazzi closes 20th and is the only other Italian in the points. For Federico Paini 31st place in front of Giovanni Franzoni, 34th and at the end 13th in the specialty ranking, while for the 19-year-old from Brescia the dream of the final podium in the general has now vanished, with the blue who will focus on the super-g World Cup scheduled for next Thursday in Lenzerheide. Franzoso (43 °), Cason (48 °), Knollseisen (49 °) and Abbruzzese, 59 ° placed far from the points area.
