The '95-class slalomist, who scored points for the first time in the World Cup in the last specialty race in Chamonix, finally seems to have made the quantum leap.

There is one more card that Jacques Theolier will be able to play on the slalom table, in the next World Cup season that will see the blue specialists. Not only the veterans Gross, Moelgg and Razzoli, not only the rising stars Vinatzer and Maurberger or the newly found Tommaso Sala.
The French coach who brought Italy back to grab a couple of podiums (with Gross and Vinatzer) among the rapid gates after two complete fasting seasons, will be able to count on Federico Liberatore. The 24-year-old from Fassa is working with his teammates from the technical disciplines for the final days of the inaugural meeting at the Stelvio and is preparing the year for his entry into the World Cup on a permanent basis.
Not so much and not only for the fixed position gained thanks to the 3rd final place in the specialty classification in the European Cup (last year the Zagreb slalom jumped for the concomitant commitments on the continental circuit), as for having shown that it could stay there all right at this level. Faith seemed ready already during the 2018/19 season, when an injury in the first giant of the European Cup in Andalo stopped him practically for the rest of the year, with a sore left ankle and a lot of anger since the performance had been very good in boot, even between wide doors.
The trust of the technical staff meant that the young blue could grow race after race during the last year, while not taking points in the World Cup, but exploding in the European Cup with the first two career successes, between early January in Vaujany and a month later in Berchtesgaden, just 24 hours after that World Cup slalom in Chamonix that saw him finally enter the 30.
With the bib number 56 and a great 2nd heat, the 11th final place meant climbing another step and filling up on confidence, with the regret of not having been able to repeat for the cancellation of the last three seasonal slaloms. In Levi, on 22 November for the first specialty race of the new season, Liberatore will already be able to start close to 30 thanks to the points collected in the European Cup, with forty lengths to be recovered instead on the border of the top 30 in the WCSL of CdM .
