Only two Azzurri qualified for the second heat of the first giant of Santa Caterina Valfurva: word to the Trentino and Piedmontese, respectively 17th and 21st.

It wasn't the heat they had been dreaming of for the whole week of approach, which had been really good.
None of the eight blues involved in the giant of Santa Caterina Valfurva can be satisfied with the result obtained, with only two qualified athletes, or the only starters in the 30. As Giovanni Borsotti confessed (and confirmed by qualifications with high numbers, see Zampa 13th with number 37) to the microphones of Rai Sport, no excuse for a track that has clearly suffered the signs of a lot of snow that continues to fall on Deborah Compagnoni. The Piedmontese, 21st in the middle of the race with 2 ”26 to recover from the leader Kranjec, still believes in a comeback like Soelden, in the 2nd heat at the start from 13.30. “Did the snow intensify after the first 20? That's no excuse, the snow was much more beautiful than I thought and the ground was excellent - Borsotti's analysis - I'm still there close to the top 20, in a good position to recover a bit.
