De Aliprandini happy, the podium getting closer. The regrets are all for Tonetti

The Azzurri come out of the Hinterstoder giant with 5th place in the Trentino, solid on both heats. What anger for the Bolzano player: he was in full swing for the first 7-8 squares.

It's true, the podium has been missing for over three years and there is a risk that another giant season will close without Italy placing a man in the top 3 of a race between wide doors . Luca De Aliprandini, however, proves he has the level to try to take the first podium of his career that has so far always escaped him: Adelboden aside, where everything was ready even for the possible victory, the Trentino found himself with the discreet race of Naeba (10th) and above all today's race in Hinterstoder, on a track where already in 2016 he took a great seventh place in comeback (best time in the 2nd heat). The 5th place in Upper Austria means the second best placement of the career, after the 4th of Adelboden 2018; also for this reason Luca was satisfied with his race, with few regrets for a podium that was still difficult to reach (half a second from Kristoffersen), after having put on track two solid heats. Riccardo Tonetti is the one who has some regrets, even more so if we think about yesterday's 5th place in combined: 23rd after the first heat (where bib number 29 prevented him from doing better than 3 seconds behind), the Bolzanino was launched to a Meillard-like comeback, with the Swiss who then finished in 7th place. The error in interpretation of the final bump was fatal, leaving very heavy points on the plate.
