The Flachau slalom saw the Tyrolean give himself his first success in the World Cup, with a second masterpiece heat. "It was like there was a crowd, the smoothers were shouting my name. Beautiful."

First career victory, back on the podium (it's the third time this season) together with teammate Marco Schwarz, as in Badia and Zagreb.
If on that occasion Manuel Feller had been mocked as well as his compatriot, first by Zenhaeusern and then by Strasser, the magical first part of the season in the slalom of the 28-year-old Tyrolean was finally crowned by his first triumph in the World Cup, today in the appointment number 1 in Flachau, with Schwarz still with him on the third step of the podium.
And to think that "Manu" had lived an eve in the midst of the controversy, after having defined the "Hermann Maier Weltcup Strecke" a sort of easy meadow, after the replacement of the Kitzbuehel races with those of Salzburg. "I was nervous after what happened yesterday, besides I had gone out in Adelboden - confided Feller in the post-race interview to the FIS microphones - I tried to put down a solid first heat, then in the second I felt really good with the material, it was all perfect for trying to win.
And the best part is that I felt like there was a crowd on the track, because all the smoothers were screaming my name. Super".
The native of Fieberbrunn has thus taken back that red bib already worn last Sunday on the Chuenisbargli, so on Sunday he will have an extra responsibility to look for an encore which would also mean breaking a streak of six races (the last of last season and the first five of this) with always different winners. Really amazing.
