The third men's race of Aspen Finals will be the Giant, specialty that has already mathematically assigned her cup.

Aspen is a town located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It is one of the most important as far as alpine skiing, so as to have hosted several races of the World Cup since 1968, and the edition of the World Cup of 1950, in which Zeno Colo was protagonist with gold medals in Downhill and Giant and silver in Slalom.
ASPEN PREVIOUS
In all, seven of the Giants World Cup played in Aspen, all between 1981 and 1994. The list of winners only awards the champions: Phil Mahre won 2 times, a head for success Pirmin Zurbriggen, Marc Girardelli , Ingemar Stenmark, Alberto Tomba and Fredrik Nyberg, only one not to have the quarters of nobility to sit at the table with five of the largest gigantism of all time.
In terms of podiums the king of this race is Girardelli, who in addition to the 1985 victory adds 3 seconds and 1 third place with a total of 5; Stenmark is 4 (1 win, 2 seconds and 1 third), while Phil Mahre goes third with two wins.
In the Giant of Aspen Italy it boasts the victory of Alberto Tomba of 9 March 1991 and the third place of Matthew Belfrond of March 6, 1994, last race held in Colorado City in this specialty. To these must be added the two podiums already mentioned victory Zeno Colo World Cup in evidence that February 14, 1950 earned him the Olympic gold.
BOWL OF SPECIALTIES 'OF GIANT
As anticipated, the giant has already mathematically assigned his cup, he went for the fourth time to the member Marcel Hirscher. The Austrian ace dominated the season, reaching 633 points and never ending off the podium: 3 wins (four if you add the gold won in St. Moritz) and 4 second places! The king of Alpine skiing of the last 6 seasons will therefore have the aim to add your name in the gold of a Giant as mentioned won in the past by the greatest performers of the baggy poles.
Also little pathos for the other steps of the podium specialties: Alexis Pinturault is second with 439 points, 59 more than Mathieu Faivre, which is 380 and is the only one who can eat her place of honor; for third place, the math still holds the race Henrik Kristoffersen, fourth with 292, and Felix Neureuther, fifth with 289.
The best Italian specialties in the ranking is Florian Eisath, only to get a podium in the season (third in Alta Badia), ninth with 207 points.
I QUALIFIED TO ASPEN GIANT
As known, the Finals can participate in only the first 25 of the ranking of the seasonal specialties in progress, the world champion, the champion of the world junior and all those who have gained at least 500 points in the overall standings of the World Cup. Therefore, this is a list of ALL the qualified, regardless of their status (injured or non-accustomed to this specialty logically not participate).
