It is the technical director Roberto Lorenzi to take stock of the situation on the national technical disciplines, in training on the Stelvio glacier since last weekend and which will remain at high altitude until Wednesday 24 June.
The head of the blue slalom and giant team, in charge since last year, had to deal with the heavy farewell of Roberto Saracco, effectively taking on the role of head of the gigantists' team. “We have struggled a bit for the weather which has not been very forgiving these days - Lorenzi's analysis - Apart from one day, we have always skied in difficult snow and visibility conditions. All this does not stop us, the work continues and we hope that it will allow us to do something more specific; so far, in fact, we have limited ourselves to training with slalom skis, giant and supergiant ".
Each athlete present at the Stelvio is individually taking some technical precautions. "I found a De Aliprandini full of enthusiasm, we are concentrating with him on some details where he is lacking, both he and the rest of the team - continues the Trentino technician - Luca will also train in supergiant to improve balance and centrality, we will eventually evaluate his participation in the World Cup in some races in this discipline, because he would have a very high bib. Instead, it may be that you are participating in some combination.
With Riccardo Tonetti we will increase our work on speed, it has proven to be competitive for the combined podium. The injured Maurberger and Moelgg have almost completed the rehabilitation course after their respective injuries, Manfred will focus mainly on the slalom, with Simon instead waiting for early August. For both, the program proceeds smoothly, in Maurberger it will take a few more weeks to put the skis back on (the 25-year-old from Valle Aurina got injured practically a month after the Maremma, ed.).
We also intend to fully recover Giovanni Borsotti - Lorenzi underlines - Last year it has shown signs of recovery and has the qualities for a further step forward. Hannes Zingerle has recovered from the ankle problem that has been going on for much of last season, his priority must remain the giant. We will make sure that Tommaso Sala and Alex Vinatzer succeed in the near future to be competitive in a second discipline in addition to slalom. In fact, both of them will train a lot this summer even in giant. "
