With the cancellation of the races in Lake Louise and Beaver Creek, Val d'Isere will be to host the first Championship test of jet men who debuts with SuperG.

Val d'Isere, the town of about 1,600 inhabitants, is one of the historical sites of the Alpine Ski World Cup Men. Located in Haute Savoie in fact hosted its first race, one Giant Slalom, in 1968. Since then 89 total trials of the World Cup as well as the World Cup in 2009 and Downhill, Super G, Giant and Combined of the Albertville Olympic Games in 1992 (the slalom is raced in Les Menuires).
The three days that replaces the Beaver Creek program gets underway on Friday with the Super G on the classic Oreiller-Killy, the track which hosted most of the evidence of the World Cup of this specialty, leaving the much more difficult Face de Bellevarde the task of assign medals at the 1992 Games and the World Cup in 2009.
There are 14 Super G World Cup played in Val d'Isere between 1982 and today. One man was able to win more than a victory, Markus Wasmeier which is at 2 having been imposed on 6 December 1986 and 10 January 1988. In the golden are other great interpreters of this discipline, as Atle Skårdal Stephan Eberharter, Marc Girardelli Jan Einar Thorsen until Hermann Maier and Michael Walchhofer, who won the last edition dated 2009, however, which took place on the Face de Bellevarde.
At the level of the leader's podium instead Pirmin Zurbriggen, who despite never having managed to win a Super G in Val d'Isere got a second and two third places for a total of 3. Among active athletes boast a top-three also Ted Ligety and Werner Heel, second and third respectively in the race won by Walchhofer December 12, 2009, but as mentioned which took place not on the Oreiller-Killy.
No Italian victory in the history of the Super G in Val d'Isere, but four podiums: in addition to the aforementioned Werner Heel, should be mentioned the second place of Robert Erlacher of 6 December 1986 and the third by Peter Runggaldier and Luigi Colturi dated respectively 10 December 1989 and 5 December 1992. It should not be forgotten finally the silver medal won by Peter Fill to disputatisi world on the Face de Bellvarde in 2009.
The Super G in Val d'Isere will be staged on Friday, December 2nd. The first to go will be released by the pound at 11.
