Kilde and a first bitter ... only half: "I was skiing hard, I'll make up for it". Pinturault: "I wasn't 100%"

The holder of the crystal ball out in the Soelden giant after a great start, congratulates comrade Braathen. The Frenchman does not repeat himself on the Rettenbach, but the best condition will come later.

Although with different implications and expectations, they were partially disappointed by the first giant of the men's World Cup season. Aleksander Aamodt Kilde did not collect points in the opening, Alexis Pinturault a 4th place after the victories in the last two races disputed on Rettenbach (2016 and 2019), but with a clear explanation. “I knew I wasn't 100% fit in mid-October, so I'm quite satisfied with the result,” explained the French champion after the race. The situation was different for the holder of the absolute World Cup: AAK started very strong in the 1st heat, best time in the upper part, before defending himself on the wall (which he had approached well) and then unleashing his horses again in the final stretch. A retreat and the subsequent slip with the loss of the ski was fatal, costing points and even the first sub-group in the giant's WCSL, but the Norwegian, to the microphones of Ski Chrono, also tried to see the positive aspects of the race, after having congratulated teammate Lucas Braathen who triumphed for the first time in his career. “Of course it's not the best way to start the season, but I take the good of the day because I was skiing well. I am really happy that we are back to racing, I think we all needed to feel the pressure and adrenaline of the competition. In a different and silent environment, but still a great emotion ". Kilde has a small regret: “Maybe I could have fought harder and stayed on the track, next time I'll do better. What matters is to feel good ”.
