A master stroke, another after the world gold in descent to repeat the one obtained three days earlier in super-g.
Vincent Kriechmayr confirms his stellar condition, returning to win in the queen discipline also in the World Cup, where he had not been able since January 2019 when he overtook everyone in Wengen. And the weekend of Saalbach-Hinterglemm opens in a great way for the world champion, who on Sunday in super-g could already close the accounts for his first crystal ball, while that of descent (and it would be the fourth consecutive) seems now in the hands of Beat Feuz, who has a 68-point lead over Matthias Mayer with only the final test in Lenzerheide on the calendar.
“Today was more difficult than it might seem - Kriechmayr's analysis at oesv.at - I had to fight really hard, but I'm happy with my performance. Bib number 1 was not a disadvantage, because we did two good tests and yesterday a race, albeit a particular one. Now in super-g I will not do any calculations ”.
Matthias Mayer took yet another podium, the seventh in the series in his season of top-level speed, albeit with the world disappointment behind him. “I continue my series on the podium - explains the Carinthian - which is obviously very positive, and even today I can be completely satisfied with my performance, because I was at the limit and I gave everything. Vincent and Beat just skied at a fantastic level ”.
