Kristoffersen opens the Flachau slalom to close the cup games: Moelgg's last with n ° 32

Wednesday (17.45-20.45) the recovery slalom in Zagreb, penultimate specialty and final race of "Manni" career. Razzoli and Vinatzer again drawn at the bottom of the second sub-group, seven blues at the start.

The last of the captain, for a special night in Flachau where the ninth and penultimate slalom of this World Cup will be staged, recovery more than two months after the cancellation (with controversy) of Zagreb. It may already be the decisive race for the award of the specialty crystal ball, with Henrik Kristoffersen looking for the trio after 2016 and 2020, but above all it will be the slalom of the 329th and last bib of Manfred Moelgg, who will greet everyone with his n ° 32. The technical break will take place after his descent, but it is obviously hoped that “Manni” will qualify for the second heat in order to say goodbye in an even more beautiful way. Tomorrow we start at 5.45 pm with the 1st heat (German layout, at 8.45 pm the second on a French design), opened by the red bib Henrik Kristoffersen back from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen double. Of course, the technical context, quite simple on the Hermann Maier Weltcup Strecke which usually hosts the women's circuit, is not very favorable to the Norwegian: in 2021 Manuel Feller and Sebastian Foss-Solevaag won, in two recovery races also in that case. The latter will start with number 2, anticipating Ryding, who returned to the first group with 2nd place in “Garmisch 2”, the same Feller and the Olympic champion Clément Noel, now out of the game for the discipline cup. With 6 and 7, Meillard and Strasser, then Pinturault and Strolz, while Braathen (first pursuer of Kristoffersen in the standings) will have 11, followed by Zenhaeusern, Yule and the two leading Azzurri. As in the second Garmisch slalom, Giuliano Razzoli and Alex Vinatzer caught the last two bibs of the second sub-group, then we will soon see Tommaso Sala with 17, finally Maurberger with 30, Moelgg with 32, Gross with 36 and Liberatore with 40.
