Campiglio is preparing for the World Cup slalom on December 22nd, for the first time without an audience. Word to the president Lorenzo Conci.

After the announcement in recent days from the FISI home, on the impossibility of opening to the public for all the Italian World Cup races scheduled for December, the various local committees are organizing themselves to manage the complex situation linked to the pandemic.
The 3Tre in Madonna di Campiglio is no exception, with the men's slalom at night, scheduled for Tuesday 22 December, which will have a unique 67th edition of its kind. For the proven work team led by President Lorenzo Conci, these are weeks of great commitment aimed on the one hand at monitoring the epidemiological situation, on the other hand to prepare all the necessary measures so that Canalone Miramonti can offer a new great show to all fans of the White Circus.
On the occasion of the FIS inspection, held on 20 October, the 3Tre Committee shared with Markus Waldner (Chief Race Officer of the Men's World Cup) and Emmanuel Couder (Coordinator of the men's circuit) the detailed prevention plan aimed at guaranteeing performance of the slalom on December 22nd (1st run at 5.45 pm, the second at 8.45 pm) in conditions of absolute safety for the athletes, teams and all professionals. In such a particular historical moment, the continuation of sport at the highest levels also requires some painful sacrifices, starting with the renunciation of the presence of the public.
"That of next December 22 will be a unique edition, just as the circumstances we face are unique - explains Lorenzo Conci - Covid-19 poses important challenges also from an organizational point of view, completely unprecedented even for a a group as tested as ours, and certainly experiencing the emotions of the World Cup without the audience on the track will be a strange feeling for us all. At this moment we must put the protection of everyone's health first, and contribute to making sure that the activity of the White Circus can continue, not only for us but for all the athletes and organizers, moreover in a season that will culminate with the 'world appointment right in Italy, in Cortina ”.
The president of 3Tre concludes: “We want ski enthusiasts to enjoy a great show on television screens, like the one that Canalone Miramonti has been able to offer over the years. Even if they cannot be on the track, we want to do everything possible so that ski lovers can experience the event in an authentic and engaging way: we are also working for this ".
