The men's cup is still shaking: an outbreak near Kitzbuehel, today a decisive meeting

In Jochberg, where many volunteers come from, there are 17 suspected cases of Covid with English mutation: on Saturday and Sunday the two slaloms on the Ganslern are planned (the Flachau hypothesis also appears, in case the situation should precipitate) in the maxi reshaped program after the chaos Wengen.

The men's World Cup seems to have no peace, precisely for the two most anticipated weekends of the season. Wengen jumped due to the explosion of Covid cases in the Bernese Oberland resort which thus lost its races, two of which will be recovered in Kitzbuehel. Today, however, an outbreak emerged in Jochberg, just 9 km from the Tyrolean location of the historic Hahnenkammrennen event, which includes five races starting from the two slaloms on Saturday and next Sunday: 17 suspected cases of virus with English mutation , coming from a place where many volunteers used by the organization live. Immediately tests on them and, according to the same committee chaired by Michael Huber, we are confident that the cluster has been identified and stopped in time. Today, however, there will be a meeting between the Austrian health minister, Rudolf Anschober, the organizers of Kitzbuehel and the governor of Tyrol, Guenther Platter, to confirm or not the Kitz races. And from the columns of the "Kronen Zeitung" there is already the hypothesis that, at least the two slaloms of January 16 and 17 scheduled on the "Ganslern", can be moved to Flachau, which yesterday hosted the classic women's World Cup competition .
