Fourteen years of waiting and, albeit in another season where there are likely to be more races behind closed doors than those with spectators on the track, Adelboden was able to celebrate a special day in the best possible way.
A Swiss hadn't won the giant on Chuenisbargli since 2008, when Marc Berthod won, and everyone was waiting for him alone, all the more so after having signed the best time trial in the first heat.
