A surprising choice in some ways, considering the results of the tests (4th time in the last Thursday training) and the warrior nature of the character.
This time, however, Christof Innerhofer has decided to reason more with his head than with his heart, giving up competing on Saturday in the descent of "his" Lauberhorn (where on 19 January 2013 he obtained his penultimate victory in the World Cup). No Wengen races therefore for “Innerâ€, and the reason is soon explained: tenth in the WCSL downhill (it would be 11th, but Theaux will be out until the end of the season), the 35-year-old from Gais is on the border of a very delicate top ten , both because already tomorrow he would almost certainly start with the number 1, and because after two disputed races, the points of the injured player's status would be unlocked.
Innerhofer would therefore immediately need an important result to avoid falling quickly on the world lists, obviously the condition cannot yet be at the top and here is the choice to give up one of his favorite tracks: “I'm happy with the tests made, but I have to use the head since I want to compete for many more years and the ranking points are important. So I'm not going to go down tomorrow, but my goal is to be there for the super-G in Kitzbuehel â€.
After the accident in Cortina d''Ampezzo last March, therefore, we will have to wait another week: next Friday in the Austrian temple, if everything goes properly, we will finally see the blue jet in the race.
