The men's World Cup lands in Italy and Val Gardena is ready for the 54th edition of the great classics of the circuit, with the two speed races between Friday 17 (super-g) and Saturday 18, with the descent on the Saslong.
Already last weekend some of the best downhill skiers in the world arrived in Val Gardena, between yesterday and today the last training sessions on the Ciampinoi slope and Wednesday, starting at 11.45 am (same time as the races), here is the first of the two tests. “We are ready for this great challenge. Organizing this year's event was even more difficult - the words of Rainer Senoner, President of the Saslong Classic Club that organizes the event - This is because, unlike 2020, this year everything is open and the ski facilities are also in full swing, but at the same time it is still necessary to comply with all safety measures and protect the FIS group in the best possible way.
Despite this, we are prepared and we can't wait to get started, not only for the numerous high-level athletes who will participate, but also for the spectators who will be able to follow the races closely ”.
Tickets for the 54th Saslong Classic are still available, both for the super-g on Friday 17 December and for the downhill on Saturday 18. Tickets can only be purchased online on the official website www.saslong.org/it/tickets. Due to the current pandemic situation, higher safety regulations apply in Val Gardena to protect athletes, staff and spectators. Only fans in possession of the Super Green Pass will be admitted, i.e. fans who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or who have recovered from it. It is also mandatory to wear a mask in the entire spectator area and there will be no hospitality set up.
