On Tuesday in Schladming the seventh slalom of the season: there will be eight Azzurri in the race, without Tonetti and the injured Vaccari and with a great desire for redemption after Flachau. World passes are also up for grabs, from tomorrow's race to two in Chamonix.

It is the “night race”, the most anticipated race of the year for slalomists, but certainly with a very different atmosphere this year given the lack of public in Schladming. The seventh specialty event will start at 5.45 pm on Tuesday, with the first heat on Planai (the second at 8.45 pm) which will see eight standard bearers from Jacques Theolier's team as protagonists.
Compared to the last two disappointing races in Flachau, Tobias Kastlunger returns to the team, while we will not see Riccardo Tonetti and, of course, the injured Hans Vaccari (who broke his crusader in the first Salzburg slalom). Confirmed Stefano Gross, Federico Liberatore, Simon Maurberger, Manfred Moelgg, Giuliano Razzoli, Tommaso Sala and Alex Vinatzer, fresh from four consecutive exits but still in the second sub-group, called to redemption and perhaps to repeat the great race of last year, when it ended sixth behind a super Maurberger.
There are two blue victories in the (recent) history of Planai, dating back to the first two editions of the night race with Alberto Tomba (1997 and 1998), then the podiums of Moelgg (second in 2004 and third in 2008) and the squares of honor of Stefano Gross in 2012 and 2015. And tomorrow's slalom will be crucial, together with the two scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Chamonix, to win a world pass: the fight is open.
