High temperatures and a race on a track in very difficult conditions after just a few steps.
And so the many big names present at Obereggen, for the historic European Cup slalom, paid duty in the 1st round on the "Maierl", where the Croatian Istok Rodes, the winner of the last edition, controls.
Nothing to do for the bibs outside the first sub-group, so much so that the top ten in the standings are exactly the first 10 taken from the starting gate: Tommaso Sala (No. 5), leader of the specialty and overall, was saved sixth at 98 cents from the leader, but far enough from Gstrein (2nd at 17 cents), Nordbotten (3rd at 27), Haugan (4th at 33) and Buffet, fifth at 58 cents.
The other Italians suffered, with Stefano Gross (the best with high numbers) 13th at 1 "89, just ahead of the Norwegians Braathen and Foss-Solevaag, highly anticipated as the Fassa and many World Cup great, while Simon Maurberger is the third blue in 16th place, with Razzoli and Vinatzer out in the second part of the track, when their times were already quite high.
